Defining the purpose
The PIA Audit Tool will assist you in determining the extent to which your agency's human resource practices are satisfactory or require development. The audit will:
Prioritizing the results
Every "No" answer will result in a finding on the report, which outlines findings and priority areas specific to your state. This report will highlight the areas where you need to contemplate adjustments due to legal noncompliance or to improve critical employment practices. These items are bolded and highlighted in red. We suggest that you print the audit questions once you have completed your responses for easy reference to the report.
Adjusting for change
PIA encourages you to update your audit periodically to assure that you are in compliance with all legal items. Your audit results will be saved for future reference and updated under you PIA website username and password.
Getting started
Once you click "Proceed with Audit" below, you will be directed to the Human Resources Audit. If you do not have the ability to answer all the questions at once, you may save your work at any time or even print the questions to share them with others. If you choose to interrupt the session, simply save your answers and log back in under your username and password.
The purpose of the audit is for you to self-assess your agency's human resource practices and be able to take corrective action where warranted. If occasionally you feel that a question does not apply, simply leave the answer as "No."
Terms used
The term HR Manager is used throughout the audit and report as a general term to represent the management person in your agency that performs the particular function indicated.
