Brett Hammond is the Personal Lines Manager at Merchants Insurance Group.He has been in Personal Lines underwriting for approximately 17 years. Starting as an underwriter at One Beacon Insurance and through several acquisitions, he was able to elevate to Senior Underwriter and Underwriting Manager positions prior to attaining his current position. Previous to carrier underwriting, he worked on the independent agency side for more than 10 years.Brett’s first designation was the CIC which he completed in 2006. As a believer in education, he next completed the CPRM program while also working on his CPCU. Brett was awarded his CPRM designation in 2019. Most recently he successfully completed the ARe designation. Brett is honored to join the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance's Faculty to help others grow in their careers in the insurance industry.He has been an active member in the Buffalo CPCU Society and the Western New York Insurance Associates for several years. His experience on both the agency, and the company side gives Brett an exceptionally well-rounded perspective on the insurance industry.
